"Souper" Week!

Room 5 was "Souper" Busy This Week!

Our Theme this week was inspired by the Folktale Stone Soup

We read 3 different versions of Stone Soup:

After reading we compared and contrasted all of the stories.
We even used the folktale as inspiration for a new class book! Be sure to be on the look out for another Room 5 masterpiece!

We cut out some ingredients from food flyers we thought would make a good Stone Soups.

Morning Meeting: Shoe Greeting!

During our morning meeting we greet one another to start our day off on the right foot! This week was especially the case when using the shoe greeting to say good morning to one another. Students take off one of their shoes and place it in the middle of the rug. One at a time students take turns selecting a shoe, finding its owner and saying good morning to that person.  The kids loved this greeting!
