You Can't Catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man! 

 

We read 5 different versions of Gingerbread tales. We looked at the characters, setting, repeating phrases, and how the stories ended. We compared and contrasted the stories and even wrote about which one was our favorite. Check out our gingerbread boys and girls we made at our art center this week. Our class has done a great job letting their imaginations come alive!

Odds & Ends

-Math is focused on counting to 100 by 1s and 10s. Keep up the practice. Even ask your child 

to count on from a given number. 

-We continue to work on sound/letter relationships. End sounds are our focus for the next couple of weeks.

-As the holiday season is upon us we will talk about holiday traditions and celebrations around the world. 

-In computers we worked on coding! 

-Thank you for all of your donations of tissues, hand sanitizer, and wipes. We are making great use of them over the cold season. 

Upcoming Events:

 

Tomorrow
The students will be building a train engine that Lowe’s is providing to all students. This will tie nicely into our science curriculum engineering standards.

We will be building the trains at our school. We will be working on this project in the morning.

On Tuesday, December 22nd, kindergarten will be “traveling” on the Polar Express to the North Pole. (All of the activities will occur in the classroom.) We will read the story, The Polar Express and the students will have a ticket for the “ride”. The students will be doing some Polar Express activities in class as well.

Your child can wear his or her pajamas to school that day and may even bring slippers to change into.  This will be a fun experience for your child and a nice way to end 2015.
