Week 2

Room 5 is Owl-ways busy! This week has been centered on our positive behavior system, uniqueness, and of course FUN Fridays!

Owl Standing Behavior

Our new positive behavior system has been introduced and students are loving their opportunities to be rewards for good choices. A letter was sent home with information about our system and talking with your child about our classroom rules:

Prizes will be sent home once your child has been acknowledged 5 times.  The prizes are a highlight for our students and they are doing a fantastic job embracing the new system! 

"Uniqueness"

We talked about character traits and what it means to be unique.  The students brainstormed a list of adjectives to describe themselves, their favorite color, and shared stories about the origin of their names. We are excited to learn about one another and understand differences and embrace those differences. The Room 5 community grows closer and closer each day! 

Miss Nelson is Missing

Speaking of Unique...Have you heard about Viola Swamp?

Mrs. Miri

On Wednesday we will welcome our new teacher to Room 5. Mrs. Miri! She will our fulltime assistant helping in our classroom all year.  Mrs. Field has been kind enough to fill-in for the past 2 weeks. Don't worry Mrs. Field will be substituting in the building throughout the year! More information about Mrs. Miri is to come! 

Fun Friday! 

Fridays are a perfect time to use our creativity, dance, and sing! 
We've been exploring classroom supplies, such as glue, scissors, markers, crayons, pencils, and even paint! Check out our students at work:

Don't forget to return books on Monday!! Students will select new books on Monday.

-Field Trip forms to Parlee Farms is due Friday or ASAP! Volunteers will be selected to chaperone when all forms are returned. 

-Confidentiality meeting is scheduled for Parents ONLY on Tuesday, September 27th at 9:30am or 6:30pm. You only have to attend one of these meetings in order to volunteer and/or chaperone.
