Math Centers Just Got Better!

We have been rolling out some new engaging math centers!

Sentence Writing
Our focus for Fundations this week is on sentence writing. Ask your child what a sentence needs? Their answers should include: a capital letter at the beginning, punctuation, finger spaces between words, and correct spelling. We are looking for all of these components when students are writing STAR sentences.

Celebrating Success and Dancing on Tables!

Did you hear students in Room 5 have been working so hard on their reading in Kindergarten?!

Well, we have and our reading level is just one of the ways we can see our progress come to life. Students met with me this week to check in on their reading level for end of Kindergarten. I present the students with a certificate of achievement to be celebrated with you at home and a spot on one of the classroom tables. The student being celebrated gets to dance on a table (with teacher supervision) while the rest of the class dances around them. I am SO proud of their progress and thank you for helping your child read at home.

Bucket Filler Notes

We finally checked out our buckets, as they were overflowing with bucket notes. The students read their notes to themselves and thanked friends for their kind words. We will continue to fill and read bucket notes until the end of the year.
